Finding a Swedish copywriter on Fiverr is pretty easy, but find the right one might not be entirely as simple. Not to mention that Fiverr wants its piece of the cake. It might be better to hire a Swedish copywriter directly than finding one on Fiverr. This is why, and this is what I can offer you as an experienced native Swedish copywriter.

Fiverr’s impact on freelancing
Fiverr is a large gig market place where you can find a freelancer for almost any task. According to Fiverr’s 2024 Independent Workforce report, 59% of freelancers use the service. It is a huge market place, but it also comes with downsides. Let’s see why you should consider hiring a Swedish copywriter directly, without middlemen, instead of doing it on Fiverr. This what I can do for you as a Swedish copywriter.
Stefan has been a fantastic resource as our content freelancer for the Swedish market. He has done an excellent job, both in terms of independent tasks and as part of our agency’s client team.

Fiverr’s cut
So, the main argument is definitely Fiverr’s cut. Fiverr is currently (October 2025) charging 5.5% service fee per order (and $2 small-order fee for under $75), plus a 20% cut from the freelancer’ earnings. It goes without saying that this will force you to pay significantly more for your Swedish copywriting, and it’s a premium that won’t really guarantee higher quality. Sure, there’s word of mouth and ratings from previous clients, but independent copywriters can offer testimonials as well.
There might also be limitations to how you can communicate with your freelancer, e.g. that it won’t be possible directly over e-mail or channels like Slack. This can prove frustrating when you need a freelancer that is involved in stakeholder-based projects, and not only limited, one-off gigs.
| Factor | Fiverr | Upwork | Hiring direct |
| Fees | High (both sides) | Medium | None |
| Communication | Restricted | Moderate | Open |
| Flexibility | Limited | Good | Full |
| Trust system | Platform-based | Platform-based | Personal/professional |
| Quality control | Often low/mixed | More curated | Fully within your control |
| Ideal for | Quick, cheap gigs | Professional freelancers | True business partnerships |
Fiverr simply discourages long-time freelancer/client relationships. And for me that’s a huge negative, as it’s long-term client relationships I’m usually looking for. Long-term clients means making a difference, and it also means better results. If we work directly, we can build a long-term partnership on trust and results — not platform terms.
Swedish copywriter directly – no Fiverr
Hiring a Swedish copywriter on Fiverr may seem tempting, but I’d urge you to do it directly instead. You’ll get more bang for your buck, and your freelancer will be paid better, not to mention the communication and project management aspects.
You’ve probably guessed that I’m a Swedish copywriter that doesn’t use platforms like Fiverr or Upwork already.
